Classes and Workshops

Botanical Art Classes
Botanical art classes and worskops run throughout the Sunshine Coast region with trained teachers and tutors in botanical illustration. Classes run for three terms a year, with specialised workshops being held  frequently by local and interstate artists.

Description: This course introduces the art of botanical illustration using graphite pencils and watercolour colour. Students will develop their observational skills to accurately depict botanical detail. Plant forms will be produced in pencil before basic water colour techniques are introduced in order to understand the use of directional light. Plant specimens will be discussed with emphasis on features that should be illustrated for scientific identification.  Students are be encouraged to keep a working journal and make notes to accompany their artwork.
